I done some!
I started Spiral Galaxy for T’s Aunt J for Christmas (yes, I did just say that, and no, I won’t take it back. You’ve been avenged already.) The pattern has information for worsted, sport and lace, and of course, being me, I went with a fingering. I’m doing it on 300 stitches and the number of rounds between the lace and sport versions.
This is what it looks like when I was five 600-stitch rounds into the center:
This is what it looked like when I realized I was supposed to knit five sets of (knit one round, purl one round):
I restarted it, knat 5 sets of knit-row-purl-row, then realized I was only supposed to do four, because 5 sets was for lace weight. Sigh. I only had to tink one row (of 600 stitches), though, because there was a round of knits to set up the lace.
And that is what happens when you start your Christmas presents too early – the Knit Goddess makes sure that you’ll still be rushing on Christmas eve.
Whilst in Hawaii, Smacky asked to knit. Since I was only working on garter squares, I let him try some (with my help).
Also, thanks to Cassie, I have been re-bitten by the quilting bug, so I got it out this weekend.
Between the knitting/ripping/tinking and the quilting, I managed to rub a couple spots raw on my fingers; it’s a good thing I had to go back to work today so I can get some rest…
