Have I mentioned that I love this house?

In spite of some of the weirdities (those are like oddities, only weirder) in this place, and the fact that I can’t get my living room arranged in a way I love, just yet, I have to show you something. See this?

That, me hearties, is my swift and my ball winder, ATTACHED TO THE COUNTER. This is the first time in…um… ever since I learned to knit, that I have been able to attach my ball winder and swift to something at standing-height. (Used to be that I had to get out the cutting table or attach it to chairs and sit on the floor.) This may not be a big deal to you, but it was epic for me.

Primarily because of this:

These are what occurs when you ask your small children, and your not-small husband, what color bats should be. I wound all but the blue into cakes, because it occurred to me that Bug asked for sky blue, and that was not sky blue, but when he got home from swimming lessons he said it was the perfect beautiful sky blue. So, onward. Expect, in addition to the bats, that here there will be more monsters.

There will also be other things, because I have been feeling bad and tired and sluggish, and needed a lift. The other day I bought patterns for things I have wanted “someday”, because someday came, and yesterday I found a yarn for one of the things. Photography does not do it justice so I will be casting on today and hoping T will take a *good* picture of it this weekend, in good lighting, with a nice background, the way a really beautiful project deserves. I believe I shall be tossing the stash and looking for something suitable for the other piece, later.

It's always a good thing to have a convenient place for your swift.

So… you don't need that cat toy pattern after all.

I am in agreement with the Bug on the blue.

I'm sorry you've been feeling bad, and it's good that someday is now. Want to see the picture!

Having been witness to your previous set-up, I approve!

I am so very happy for the home love and totally get being happy for your clamping, as I cannot do that in my home.

Sorry about the bad, tired, and sluggish feelings. I hope the monsters help. Do you have a bat pattern already?

  8. Angie says:

I love having a place to put important stuff. I finally got a crafty table for fastening the winder on.

I hope you're feeling all energetic and stuff by now. If you are, tell me how you did it. :D
