is my sweater, and my sweater is crackers.
Okay, not really, but it ain’t gettin’ done for California and it is in an extended timeout for making me count it wrong.
Long story short, I couldn’t get the fronts and the back-shoulders to line up, so I (finally) counted again. And there is one more repeat in one front than in the other. All the way down to the cast-on and including the waist shaping.
o.O
When I first noticed, I nearly wept, then I threw it in a pile on the table, where it remains. Overnight, it occurred to me that I might be able to ladder down on one side (or both), shift the decreases over and reknit. I figure I owe it to myself to try this before I rip it back to the beginning, cuz even if I totally hose the thing, it’s unfinishable now, so who cares?
In the meantime, I have socks to knit and Tour de Fleece. I think I have more or less settled on my plan, and it might actually be doable. Won’t that be a nice change?
Oh my. My sympathies to you on the sweater. And a hug too.
But…better luck to you on the socks and Tour de Fleece!
Oy.
But yes, it's definitely worth trying to fix it first. I figure you always gain something from trying a fix – if it works, you've saved a lot of time, and gained confidence in being able to fix such problems. If it doesn't, well, pretty much all you've lost is some time. And maybe some hair that you've pulled out in frustration.
Oh honey. I am so sorry.
I hope that the fix works when you get back to it.
Yay for doability! xo
Socks and spinning sound lovely. The sweater? What sweater? ;o)
I hope the sweater fix works! Have fun in California and enjoy your vacay!
